Dawkins Buckhalter Bye Bye
by DougWell I’m officially getting scared. In a previous post, I made quick comparison of Westbrook and Buckhalter. Basically asking the question, why do the Eagles not use Buckhalter more? Well I guess Buckhalter wanted to be used more as he signed with Denver. Adding insult to injury the Broncos also signed Brian Dawkin. We all know Brian Dawkins was the heart and soul of the Philadelphia Eagles defense. I guess the only good thing is the they were not picked up by any NFC East teams. I hate to think of Dawking putting a flying hit on DeSean Jackson or Buckhalter going for yardage against the Eagles D. I guess the 2009-10 season will be one of rebuilding.

Got something to say?
I’m not scared at all. I’ve heard all the “doom and gloom” when the Eagles let go Hugh Douglas, Jeremiah Trotter (2002 not 2007), Bobby Taylor, Troy Vincent, Duce Staley – even Terrel Owens and with the exception of Owens not one of the aforementioned players even started after a season with their new team and none of them performed well. The one thing I do like is that the Eagles have more playoff victories (3) to the Cowboys zero since Owens left town. What made me sick was watching Dawkins get beat deep during the early part of the seaon in 2008, and the only reason he was better later was that Jim Johnson changed how he used Dawkins. The Broncos overpaid for him and will quickly realize that fact once the season starts. I loved Brian Dawkins for what he was to this town but he could’ve stayed if his “heart” was really in Philly. Unfortunately his wallet was not.
